Title: Operations Manager
Supervisor: Director of International Operations
Location: Immingham, U.K.
Primary purpose of job:
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of International Operations (Rotterdam). This position is responsible for day-to-day management of the Operations activities (receiving, storing, processing, reclaiming from storage) on the bulk solid fuels depot in Immingham in close co-operation with the rest of the Commercial and Accounting team in Immingham office.
•Ensure Facility is 100% safety focused. This is a First Priority, expected to be managed from the Top Down and will NOT be jeopardized for any other reason.
•Adherence to and enforcement of all corporate and facility safety policies and procedures
•Ensure all work conforms to applicable local and federal permits, standards and regulations operating Facility in an environmentally safe and sound manner.
•Manage and co-ordinate the operations team.
•Provide operational direction to improve overall performance and reduce overall costs.
•Surveillance of terminal operating trends, comparison against best-in-class.
•Develops measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, equipment maintenance, and quality of service.
•Develop, implement, and follow a business plan that includes; projecting, budgeting, and cost management.
•Optimize useful life of the Facility, control Facility’s downtime and disruptions, and minimize the liability of the corporation to third parties.
•Ensure product quality and quantity is preserved.
•Develop and implement training programs for personnel to ensure they are capable to perform their duties in an efficient manner.
•Responsible for making recommendations, submitting capital requests, and managing the implementation for projects that will extend the life of the facility or improve upon its safety or operation.
Required Qualifications and skills:
•Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
•Knowledge of materials transport and storage operations.
•Knowledgeable in all local transportation, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
•Ability to work independently and willingness to work “hands on”.
•Enthusiastic and able to drive improvements and solve problems, strong analytical skills
•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
•A Degree in an Engineering/technical discipline; with a minimum ten years related experience and/or training;
•Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (other languages helpful).
•Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
•Must be in possession of valid Drivers license
