Job Description: 

Centurion Residence Services, Inc. is seeking an accounting clerk to join its team:

Job Description:
• Perform a variety of general accounting tasks including:
o Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
o Update and maintain the general ledger including accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
o Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
o Reconcile records with internal company employees and management or external vendors or customers.
o Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies.
o Investigate questionable data.
• Manage the disbursement process so payments are made in a timely fashion:
o Scan invoices into approval system when received.
o Monitor invoice approvals and contact approvers if necessary.
o Create disbursement documents (wire transfers, checks, ACH requests) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform month and year-end close procedures in a timely fashion:
o Confirm bank accounts have been reconciled and there are no unidentified/recorded transactions.
o Discuss unclassified transactions with estate/operations manager and controller.
o Notify controller of any outstanding issues precluding close procedures.
Education and Key Competencies:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in business or accounting an advantage
• 1 - 3 years’ experience in clerical accounting
• MS Office and knowledge of accounting software (Quick Books Pro)
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
• Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
• Ability to succeed in a team environment
• Maintain confidentiality of critical information
• Ability to manage competing priorities
