Oxbow believes strongly in taking an active role in contributing to the health and welfare of the community where its employees live and work. Following Bill Koch’s philosophy that the best way to build a healthy community is by developing
safe and healthy children, Oxbow and its affiliates have donated computers, untold volunteer hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars to local public schools. Oxbow donated tens of thousands of dollars in state of the art athletic equipment to the Riviera Beach Fire Department in an effort to better serve the community. Oxbow Mining LLC, which owns and operates a coal mine near Delta Colorado, donated tens of thousands to help support two high school athletic programs.
Oxbow’s commitment toward community service runs throughout the company’s workforce. Whether it's designing and developing youth baseball fields in Paonia, Colorado, aiding schools in Brazil, helping the victims of hurricane Katrina (picture, right), or promoting monthly blood drives, Oxbow’s employees have always been willing to help those in need.
