Gypsum
Used primarily in the cement industry and in the creation of wallboard, Oxbow is the largest distributor of Mexican gypsum to the western United States and Canada. Oxbow provides gypsum from Canada, Spain and
Mexico to customers in the eastern United States and Latin America. Concerned about environmental impacts, Oxbow took the initiative to spend considerable effort to install innovative duct suppression systems on all of its gypsum vessels to eliminate dust emissions.
Limestone
One of the main materials used in the manufacturing of cement, Oxbow is a provider of limestone to the western United States, Canada and mid-Atlantic regions. Oxbow also provides limestone to its refinery customers, who use the mineral to assist in environmental compliance.
Fly Ash and Bed Ash
Oxbow markets combustion ash generated by power utilities, specifically by-product ash from combustion within Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Boilers. This ash comes in two distinct forms: fly ash and bed ash. Used primarily in landfills for
waste remediation, fly and bed ashes are also used in the cement and asphalt industries.
Oxbow provides its utility customers with comprehensive service through the handling, marketing and logistics of their CFB boiler ash. By effectively managing both in and out bound product flows, Oxbow provides greater efficiencies and smoother operations for its utility customers.
Mill Scale
Mill scale is a metallic dust that is a byproduct of steel.
Mill scale is used as a catalyst, in the manufacture of glass and steel, and in the cement industry. Oxbow purchases mill scale from steel mills and delivers just-in-time product to its customers.
