International Distribution
Oxbow’s international distribution line of business can respond to any storage, transshipment, screening, washing, drying, bagging, technical service and inventory management request. We make use of various major seagoing and inland terminals. This allows us to utilize the best facilities to screen, blend, clean and improve product quality. Oxbow provides a tailor-made product with the best technical and logistical support.
Locations
Terneuzen, The Netherlands
Oxbow’s joint venture company, OVET B.V., operates one of our major facilities on the northwest European coast in Terneuzen. It has a storage capacity of 600,000 metric tons on 160,000 square meters of paved storage area. As with the other OVET location in Flushing, it operates four floating cranes. Terneuzen can accept Panamax size vessels, has in total 1,400 meters of quay length and has rail connections.
Flushing, The Netherlands
The OVET terminal in Flushing has a storage capacity of 1,800,000 metric tons on 330,000 square meters of paved storage area and 6,000 square meters (45,000 cubic meters) of covered storage. With four floating cranes at its disposal, the facility can discharge up to 20,000 metric tons of product per day. Capesize vessels can be accommodated. A mobile screening plant and almost 1,000 meters of quay length are available. The terminal has an automated train loading station and has 1,200 meters of rail track on site.
Immingham, United Kingdom
A dedicated United Kingdom depot in the Immingham dock on the Humber River handles approximately 500,000 metric tons of petroleum coke products annually. Over more than 30 years of association with the port has seen our 20-acre site well utilized by producers of manufactured solid fuels, the cement sector and a broad industrial customer base. Third party receipt, handling and dispatch now plays a significant role within our materials handling portfolio. The site is rail connected and linked to nearby motorways, making it ideally situated to serve the Midlands and north of England.
Altamira, Mexico
At the Port of Altamira in the state of Tamaulipas on the Gulf of Mexico, Oxbow stores, screens, bags and blends a host of carbon products, including fuel grade petroleum coke, metallurgical coke, foundry coke, coal and graphite. The two hectare site has a combined storage capacity of 100,000 metric tons.
Added Value Activities and Expertise
Oxbow uses its own facilities as well as independent European terminals to handle, screen, crush, blend and distribute petroleum coke and other bulk products. For example, at Terneuzen we can use an automated mobile blending installation to maintain the high quality of our products. At that terminal we also have a fixed screening installation with the capability to screen 300 metric tons per hour and rescreening plants for truck and train loading.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
All yards are managed with the same high standards regarding health, safety and environmental compliance, and can load solid fuels on trucks, barges, trains and coasters.
Our main terminal in Terneuzen is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by Bureau Veritas Inspection through our joint venture companies, OVET B.V. and OVET Screening B.V.
OVET B.V. is also certified with the Environmental Management System standard ISO 14001:2015 by DNV.GL.
